The NSL Engineering Department is proud to announce its most ambitious infrastructure project to date: a high-density, Tier IV data center powered by a dedicated onsite Small Modular Reactor (SMR). Located on the repurposed grounds of the Burke Lakefront Airport, this facility will serve as the central nervous system for all League analytics and global operations, ensuring 99.999% uptime through proprietary energy independence.

• The Data Nexus: 500,000 sq. ft. of climate-controlled server housing with liquid-cooling immersion tech, utilizing the unique Lake Erie shoreline for advanced thermal exchange.
• The Core: A 300MW mini-nuclear power plant designed for carbon-neutral, off-grid reliability, secured within the former airfield perimeter.
• Exascale Analytical Compute: Our facility houses the world’s first exascale array, purpose-built to run VANGUARD-69. This proprietary AI executes trillion-point simulations and sub-second archiving.
• Security: Multi-layer biometric perimeter with 24/7 Engineering Dept. oversight, leveraging the site’s existing restricted airspace protocols.

The Nexus Project is anchored by a landmark public-private partnership. Cuyahoga County taxpayers have approved a referendum to subsidize 69% of the project’s costs, reflecting a community-wide commitment to transforming the lakefront into a global tech hub. The remaining 31% is provided by the NSL Owners Group, a private investment cementing the League’s permanent footprint in the regional skyline.

The official Groundbreaking Ceremony is scheduled to commence at the former Burke Lakefront Terminal in Q1 2026. This milestone marks the transition of the NSL from a global spectacle to a self-sustaining technological superpower.
